Description

Acute Immune Complex
ImmuneForce is a multi-standardised herbal formula which features Echinacea purpurea (echinacea), Hydrastis canadensis (golden seal), Thymus vulgaris (thyme), Andrographis paniculata (andrographis) and Inula helenium (elecampane), with the added benefits of zinc. ImmuneForce is specifically formulated to help reduce the symptoms of acute mild upper respiratory tract infections (URTIs), including the common cold.

  • Echinacea helps relieve the symptoms associated with mild URTIs including the common cold and flu, when taken at the first sign of infection, according to traditional western herbal medicine.
  • Andrographis is considered to be antibacterial and antiviral (shown in vitro), and may reduce symptoms associated with URTIs if taken at the first stage of symptoms.
  • Thyme is traditionally used in western herbal medicine to help relieve coughs due to mild URTIs, and as an expectorant to reduce mild upper respiratory catarrh.
  • Elecampane has a tradition of use in western herbal medicine as an expectorant to help relieve persistent mild coughs.
  • Golden seal's berberine content is thought to exert an antimicrobial effect (shown in lab studies), and the herb is utilised traditionally in western herbal medicine to assist in relieving mild dyspepsia.
  • Zinc provides nutritional support for a healthy immune system.
  • Contains andrographis (standardised to 50mg andrographolide) and echinacea (standardised to 1mg cichoric acid) per tablet.
  • Uses golden seal cultivated from a sustainable source.
  • Vegan-friendly formula.

Always read the label. Use only as directed.

Prescribing Information:
Not recommended for use in pregnancy and lactation.
Andrographis and echinacea, although well tolerated in most people, have a potential risk of allergic reactions, including anaphylaxis in rare cases.
Concurrent use of andrographis with anticoagulant or antiplatelet medications (including warfarin and aspirin) may increase risk of bruising and bleeding due to andrographolides inhibiting platelet-activating-factor- induced platelet aggregation.
Andrographis has hypoglycaemic activity comparable to metformin in vivo, so an additive effect is theoretically possible.
The immunostimulant activity of andrographis (demonstrated in vivo) may theoretically result in an interaction when used concurrently with immunosuppressive medications.
Theoretically, echinacea may interfere with immunosuppressant therapy because of its immunostimulating activity.
Taking more than 50mg of zinc per day over a period of weeks may interfere with copper bioavailability.
Theoretically, concurrent use of thyme with other acetylcholinesterase (AChE) inhibitors might have additive effects and increase the risk of cholinergic side effects. However, this has not been observed in humans.
Theoretically, thyme might have additive effects with anticoagulant or antiplatelet drugs and possibly increase the risk of bleeding.
Theoretically, thyme might competitively inhibit the effects of estrogen replacement therapy.
Theoretically, concomitant use of elecampane with drugs with sedative properties may cause additive effects.
Berberine, a constituent of goldenseal, might inhibit cytochrome P450 3A4 (CYP3A4) enzymes.
Goldenseal can significantly inhibit cytochrome P450 2D6 (CYP2D6) enzymes and potentially increase levels of drugs metabolized by CYP2D6.
